Support sought for a Memorial Honoring the 6th at the Buchenwald Concentration Camp

April 11, 2020 is the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the notorious German Concentration Camp, Buchenwald, by the 6th Armored Division.

Jerry Klinger is president of the Jewish American Society for Historic Preservation, www.JASHP.org. Klinger is leading an effort to place the first ever memorial to the 6th, liberators of Buchenwald at the Memorial Camp Site. Buchenwald Memorial has between 1,2,000,000 million visitors annually.

We have received the following notable letters of support for the effort:

The proposed Memorial is deliberately designed with limited text but with the powerful iconic image of American soldiers entering Buchenwald.

The German administrators are positively inclined to a memorial concept.

JASHP is looking for support for the effort. They are not looking for funding. Funding for the memorial is being provided by the Jewish American Society for Historic Preservation.
